Saturday (4/3/17) saw the Gallery Kids Art Club with Hayley Gillespie at her studio. The children aged 8 to 12 years enjoyed a 2-hour session exploring her workshop, receiving their own sketch book for collecting ideas and for use as a visual diary. The kids were introduced to new ways of looking at art, craft and design, including theatre, fashion, graphic and architecture design.  The Club is a great opportunity for children to make friends and is designed to introduce children to a broad range of techniques and ideas used in art, craft and design disciplines. This Wednesday Night, the Tropical "Mrs Claus Trio" will be roving the streets and entertaining from 5:30- 8pm at "Carols in the City".  I was in my element creating my first Santa's grotto. A dream come true!Come to town and celebrate the beautiful lighting of the Cairns Regional Council's Christmas Tree then get on down to Lake St, Oceana Walk where you can get your self a "SELFIE with SANTA" in his Tropical Wonderland.Please feel free to make a small donation to the Mayor's Christmas appeal for your "SELFIE with SANTA". September the 3rd is the exhibition date for "When I grow up Art Day" as part of Festival Cairns.
